Conversations about Optimizing Hospital Operations

TeleTracking Named Best Product for Workplace Improvement

Building Better Healthcare TeleTracking Technologies, Inc. has been named the 2014 “Best Product for Improving Working Practices” by the British healthcare publication, Building Better Healthcare.

Each year the publication recognized leaders who are advancing the delivery of healthcare in various ways.

TeleTracking currently provides automated operational efficiency solutions to 27 hospitals in the UK, including New Cross Hospital, the world’s first ‘Real-Time Hospital’.

New Cross Hospital, which is part of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT), uses TeleTracking’s solutions to optimize virtually all of the daily tasks that support healthcare delivery, as well as to exponentially increase the hospital’s ability to monitor employee hand-washing activities.

The prestigious BBH award focuses on six categories:

  1. Building Design
  2. Patient Experience
  3. Estates & Facilities Management
  4. Sustainability
  5. Technology
  6. People

The judges said TeleTracking, whose enterprise platform addresses every point along the patient flow pathway, has “tremendously wide appeal” as a technology that can improve the healthcare workplace for patients and caregivers alike.

TeleTracking’s platform improves efficiency by automating functional operations and powering live information to the entire enterprise via easy-to-read, graphics-rich digital dashboard that provide executives, managers and bed coordinators with a motion picture of all personnel locations and interactions, bed capacity, hand hygiene compliance and critical workflow data.

This, in turn, improves patient safety, throughput, cost savings, revenue generation, overcrowding problems, asset management and infection control.  The ongoing stream of data generated by the automation process provides business intelligence for continual operational improvement.

In addition, shortly after implementation, TeleTracking’s hand hygiene solution propelled New Cross Hospital’s hand hygiene monitoring from 600 manual observations per month to over 1.3 million remote observations per month.

They system also tracks the interactions and locations of every badged staff member who comes in contact with an infected patient.
