Patient Flow Solutions on display at HIMSS16

TeleTracking at HIMSS16After having just been named Patient Flow Category Leader for the 5th consecutive year by U.S. healthcare market research leader KLAS, we’re taking our solutions to the HIMSS16 Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas February 29 – March 4, 2016.  This is one of the largest health IT shows of the year, bringing together more than 40,000 health IT professionals, clinicians, executives and vendors from around the world.

The crowds flocking to HIMSS16 demonstrate how much the field of patient flow is evolving.  When TeleTracking started 25 years ago, the notion of patient flow  didn’t exist.  However, the idea has been steadily growing as hospitals and health systems begin understanding the important role that effective, efficient flow plays in patient experience, caregiver experience and the other factors that drive value.

The Quality of Patient Care

Ideal CareWe have previously posted about the value of time in healthcare and the impact that it can have on the quality of patient care.  The implications of ‘time’ are significant because it can affect a patient’s experience throughout the continuum of care and also their safety.

Diving more deeply into the topic, The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) recently hosted a webinar, Free from Harm: Accelerating Patient Safety Improvement, that provided an overview of the current state of patient safety in the United States.  The webinar covered information presented in their report which was an update of a similar report 15 years earlier.
