TeleTracking Offering Protects Against 2-Midnight Rule

2-Midnight RuleRecent buzz suggests that the 2-Midnight Rule may be replaced with a “kinder, gentler” short-stay payment model. But long-time Medicare watchers say, “don’t bet on it.” Even though the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is asking for input on a short stay payment structure, there’s no guarantee that the controversial rule will go away anytime soon…if ever.

The NSA and the Future of Healthcare

NSA-spying-future-of-healthcare (350x234)In the “Brave New World” of Healthcare, futurists insist the primary focus will be on prevention, with the help of technology to gather data.

That doesn’t mean just jogging a few miles a week and cutting back on the pork rinds.  In fact, in one futurist scenario about the Patient-Centered Medical Home (see #4 “I am my own medical home” pages 14-16), citizens will use home-based bio-monitors and other devices to constantly update electronic medical records, resulting in more timely preventative care. Hospitals-Disney-Customer-Satisfaction-Cues (250x161)With the Affordable Care Act tying Medicare reimbursement to hospital patient satisfaction, hospitals have been turning to customer service leaders like the Disney Company for advice on how to please their patients.
